Privacy policy

Tukka operates Watchpane at watchpane.tukka.dev. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email contact[at]tukka[dot]dev.

1. Your cameras. Watchpane connects your browser straight to your own go2rtc server. The video goes from go2rtc to your browser and never reaches us. Your cameras' addresses and passwords stay in go2rtc's own config; Watchpane never sees them.
2. Detection, clips and faces. Motion, people and face detection run in your browser. Clips, face snapshots, face groups, the names you give them and the face measurements used to group them are saved in your browser's storage on your computer. They are never uploaded. Face grouping is an estimate, not a confirmed identity.
3. Browser storage. Your browser also keeps your go2rtc address, your camera list, your settings and a random ID for analytics. Clearing the site's data removes all of it, recordings included, so download clips you want to keep.
4. Connection setup. To set up each video connection, your browser asks Google's public STUN server (stun.l.google.com) for its own network address, which shows Google your IP address. No video goes there.
5. Analytics. Our own analytics counts visits using that random ID, the page address, the referring site, the country worked out from your IP address, and your browser, operating system and device type. These records are kept for 40 days and then deleted. The IP address itself is not stored. There are no ads and no third-party trackers.
6. Service providers. Cloudflare delivers the site and its detection models, and may process network information to do so, including in other countries. We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising. We may disclose information when the law requires it.
7. Your cameras, your responsibility. Only watch and record cameras you're allowed to, and follow the laws on recording people where you live.
8. Your rights. Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to its use, or complain to your data protection authority. Since your video, clips and faces never leave your computer, we hold nothing of them to hand over.
9. Children. Watchpane isn't meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
10. Changes. We'll update this page and its date when anything here changes. This policy covers Watchpane only.
