Watchpane plays your cameras from your own go2rtc server. Set go2rtc up once with the steps below, then connect it and pick the cameras to watch.
No account. No install. No cloud video.
Set up go2rtc for Watchpane Once, before you connect
Watchpane needs go2rtc, the free camera streaming server. This page asks go2rtc for a camera, go2rtc answers, and the video then goes straight from go2rtc to this browser over WebRTC. No other server is involved, and your video never reaches us.
- 1. Let this page talk to go2rtc. Add this to
go2rtc.yaml:api: origin: "*"
Remove any username and password from go2rtc's API, and from any proxy in front of it: this page can't sign in. - 2. Open the video port. Video uses go2rtc's WebRTC port, 8555, and skips reverse proxies like Traefik or nginx, so this computer must reach that port directly. If go2rtc runs in Docker, publish the port in
docker-compose.yml:ports: - "8555:8555/tcp" - "8555:8555/udp"
and add go2rtc's computer's IP address togo2rtc.yaml:webrtc: candidates: - 192.168.1.10:8555 - 3. Restart go2rtc. It reads its config only when it starts.
- 4. Connect. Click Connect go2rtc and enter its address:
http://localhost:1984when it runs on this computer, its IP address likehttp://192.168.1.10:1984, or itshttps://address. Other plainhttp://names are blocked by Chrome on this page. When Chrome asks to access devices on your local network, click Allow.
